Mechiras Chometz
Personal Mechiras Chometz Instructions:
If unable to meet me in person to sign and make a Kinyan, do the following:
Download and Print out the document below.
Fill in the (Hebrew) date in the Month of Nissan, before the words "לחדש ניסן".
Fill in the City and State (and Country if applicable) after the words "פה עיר".
Sign in the line marked "נאום".
Add in the addresses where the Chametz is located (Home, Office, Etc.), and if you have a car, use the line to write the Make, Model and License Plate number.
Scan (or take a picture) of the signed document and email to: RabbiShuchat@gmail.com, or send via SMS to 248-247-4900, or via Whatsapp to: https://wa.me/12482474900?text=%20MechirasChometz, or via Fax to 516-321-1413
If one is unable to print and sign the document below, an online form may be used only Bish'as Hadchak, using THIS LINK.
If possible, prior to signing the document (or filling out the form above) try to do a Kinyan with the Rabbi, as follows:
a) The one who is selling the Chometz ("Seller") takes an object which belongs to him, and before giving it to another person, other than the one who is selling the Chometz, who is over Bar-Mitzvah ("Acquirer"), says as follows "Acquire this object for Rabbi Sholom Shuchat," and then the Seller gives it to the Acquirer.
b) The Acquirer then picks it up about 10 inches in the air.
c) The Acquirer then turns to the Seller and says as follows: "By picking up this object you are performing a binding Kinyan Sudar, thereby appointing Rabbi Sholom Shuchat to act as your agent and sell your Chametz," and then gives the object to the Seller.
d) The Seller picks it up about 10 inches in the air.

On Sunday Night (Bedikas Chometz Night) or Monday morning (BEFORE 11:00am NYC time) do the following:
Fill in the City and State (and Country if applicable) after the words "ודיירי"
Sign in the line marked "נאום"
Scan (or take pictures) of the signed document, and of ALL the Mechiras Chometz forms you have received from your community, and email to: RabbiShuchat@gmail.com, or send via SMS to 248-247-4900, or via Whatsapp to: https://wa.me/12482474900?text=%20MechirasChometz, or via Fax to 516-321-1413
Don't forget to fill out and sign your own personal "Mechiras Chometz" document (above form).

c) The Acquirer then turns to the Rov and says as follows: "By picking up this object you are performing a binding Kinyan Sudar, thereby appointing Rabbi Sholom Shuchat to act as your agent to sell all the Chametz of the people who appointed you to sell their Chametz," and then gives the object to the Rov.
d) The Rov picks it up about 10 inches in the air.
